Meet the Alchemists
-
Jax
Jax picked up his first yoyo in third grade. Like many modern players, he learned to throw during the 90s yoyo boom. His love only grew over the decades as he developed a deep appreciation for fine yoyo craftsmanship. Since he was just a kid, Jax knew he wanted to make yoyos that spin long and play fantastic. In 2023, he founded Alchemik Yoyos with one goal in mind: to craft top tier throws with highest quality materials. Alchemik Yoyos are designed to withstand the test of time–to be cherished and passed down as heirlooms–to be the perfect yoyos Jax has always dreamed of making.

Ty
Ty first discovered modern yoyoing while watching an MTV dating show called “Next” sometime around 2006. When he saw a contestant (unsuccessfully) attempting to impress a girl with a Brain Twister, Ty was hooked. Shortly after, he found Mickey’s freestyle from the 2005 World Yoyo Contest and immediately bought a YoyoJam Speed Maker. He later discovered Jake Bullock and Tyler Severance’s 5A style and, as he describes it, “it was all downhill from there.” Ty lists his other influences as Jon Rob, Dana Bennett, and Sterling Quinn, exclaiming, “Those dudes made me fall in love with 5A.”

Tyler
Also hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Tyler joins Team Alchemik from Eastern Washington. After dabbling with 5a throughout his fifteen years of play, Tyler’s focus turned almost exclusively to 5A in 2022.
Between founding clubs and hosting statewide contests, Tyler has earned his station in the yoyo community. He recounts running the Idaho state contests two years in a row with pride and excitement, calling it “an amazing experience.” Tyler currently heads up the Tri-cities Yo-Yo Club, and he is looking to build its membership. We encourage any players in the area to reach out to him.

Tayler
Tayler Noyes brings two decades of yoyo experience to Team Alchemik. He discovered modern yoyo at the Wizard's Chest in Cherry Creek, Colorado when, by coincidence–or perhaps fate–he stopped playing a popular card game and stumbled upon a yoyo club. After seeing Jon Gates run a yoyo club in Denver, he had something of a vision or a foresight into the future: he saw himself much older and playing yoyo proficiently. Immediately and excitedly, he bought a Lyn Fury by Yoyo Jam. That was 20 years ago and he is still just as passionate about yoyo today as he was back then. As a regional and national competitor, Tayler is always striving to improve, and he remains passionate about building community and supporting yoyo players on the ASD spectrum.
